The Toolcase application will alert the user of tools moving outside the RFID reader proximity.

Smart Toolcase is a system consisting of an RFID reader and a smartphone application with built-in tool inventory management intelligence software. It can operate with all types and brands of RFID tags.
RFID Reader: Radio-Frequency Identification (RFID) is a technology that uses radio waves to identify objects and provide information through RFID tags or smart labels. The data transmitted from RFID tags is received by the RFID reader, which converts the radio waves into useable information. The information is then transmitted to a database (smartphone), where the information is stored and evaluated. The RFID reader is universal and can be used with active tags, passive tags, and pre-existing company tags such as Dewalt® Tool Connect™ and RFID batteries. The RFID reader should be recharged daily with the included charger. Active tags have a battery life of 3–5 years, depending on use.

SMARTPHONE APPLICATION
The Toolcase application connects to the RFID reader via Bluetooth and provides the user with an inventory management system for their tools and real-time locations of tools within the range of the RFID reader.
COMPATIBLE WITH RFID TAGS OF ANY TYPE
RFID tags contain an integrated circuit and an antenna to transmit data to the RFID reader. RFID tags can be either passive or active. Active RFID tags use a battery to power tags allowing for longer reading distances. Passive RFID tags do not use battery power but provide a shorter reading distance. The reading distance of an RFID tag also depends on the frequency that it emits.

DYNAMIC TRIANGULATION
Toolcase uses dynamic triangulation to determine the location of individual tags.

This process involves circling the place where tags are located, e.g., pickup truck or tool bag, with the Toolcase RFID reader so that it can continuously ping all tags in that location and use the dozens of coordinate points that are created as a result to triangulate the position of each tag.

Toolcase has an exact positioning accuracy
of 5 mm and can determine if anything is missing.

BENEFITS
Never lose tools again
Get notified if tools are missing from the bag. Toolcase will issue an automatic alert if the user departs from the workplace and leaves even a single tool behind.
Make sure everything is in place
Quick check button

Convenient features let you determine exactly what is missing. Depending on the type of RFID tag used and its capabilities, it may also be possible to locate the tool.
Check if all tools are inside the tool bag without using the smartphone application. Pressing a button on the device in the bag will let the user know if anything is missing.
Universal
and cross platform
Toolcase works with most brands and active and passive RFID tags of any type, see the compatibility list below. There is no need to stick to a single brand to keep track of all tools.
Strong and durable
The rugged plastic case and powerful rechargeable battery allows the device to have a wide scanning range and long operating time
Built in power bank
The built-in 1500 mAh power bank is what powers the device. It can also be used to charge other devices, such as portable speakers and phones, if necessary.

Compatible with other brands – Toolcase is fully compatible with tags made by other brands and can effectively scan them to determine their locations.
The universal use of active and passive RFID tags – Universally compatible with both, active and passive RFID tags, thanks to the standalone Toolcase RFID reader.
Location scanning – The Toolcase RFID reader has individual antennas for active and passive tag scanning. They are powerful enough to detect UHF passive RFID tags as far as 5 m away. Unlike Toolcase, Tile operates within the standard Bluetooth range (<10 m) of a device that has location services in order to communicate its location to the app.
Apple AirTag only transmits its location to nearby iPhones that have Bluetooth enabled.
DeWalt tag relies on active RFID tags only and must be in close proximity to receive the tag signal.
Other features – Toolcase comes with the added benefit of a built-in power bank that can be used to charge other devices on the construction site, like smartphones.
Tag location accuracy – Toolcase uses dynamic triangulation to determine the location of individual tags. This process involves circling the place where tags are located (e.g., pickup truck or tool bag) with the Toolcase RFID reader so that it can continuously ping all tags in that location and use the dozens of coordinate points that are created as a result to triangulate the position of each tag. Toolcase has an exact positioning accuracy of 5 mm and can determine if anything is missing.
Inventory management – The inventory management system included in the Toolcase smartphone app is capable of automatically identifying and naming tools based on a photo. This reduces the time needed for tag identification and inventory management.
Tag location functionality – Toolcase has three scanning and alert triggers:
1. Manual – whenever the user presses the single scan button.
2. Scheduled – just like an alarm clock, the scan will run automatically at a specific time.
3. Location change – when the geolocation of the Toolcase RFID reader changes; this is used to alert the user if anything is missing before leaving the construction site.
Toolcase has automatic inventory control. It accurately determines if anything is missing in a specific location (e.g., tool bag, pickup truck, or room) and automatically alerts the user when tools are not found in the designated location.
